Anger Management Counseling
Transform Anger Into Healthy Communication and Emotional Control
Anger is a normal human emotion, but when it feels out of control or is damaging your relationships and life, it’s time to seek support. Whether your anger stems from stress, past trauma, relationship issues, or other underlying factors, anger management counseling can help you understand your triggers and develop healthier ways to express and manage these intense feelings.
At PIL Professional Counseling, our anger management specialists understand that anger often masks other emotions like hurt, fear, or frustration. We help you identify the root causes of your anger and develop practical skills for managing intense emotions in ways that strengthen rather than damage your relationships.
Understanding Anger and Its Impact
Depression can show up in various forms
Unmanaged anger can impact every area of your life – your relationships, work, health, and legal standing. Understanding the different ways anger shows up can help you recognize when you need support:
Explosive/Rage Episodes
Intense outbursts of anger that feel overwhelming and out of control. These episodes often lead to regret and can damage relationships and create legal or work problems.
Chronic Irritability
Constant feelings of annoyance, impatience, or frustration that make daily interactions difficult. This persistent low-level anger can be exhausting for you and those around you.
Passive-Aggressive Anger
Indirect expression of anger through sarcasm, silent treatment, or subtle sabotage. While it may feel “safer” than direct anger, it can be equally damaging to relationships.
Internalized/Self-Directed Anger
Turning anger inward, leading to self-criticism, depression, or self-destructive behaviors. This pattern can be particularly harmful to self-esteem and mental health.

What Amazing People Say
I’ve been working with Ashley for four years, and she has helped me more than I can put into words. When I first started therapy, I felt lost and sad but with her knowledge, compassion, and steady support, I’ve grown so much as a person. Ashley helped me learn how to navigate the unexpected and trust myself again. I’m more confident, grounded, and able to face challenges in ways I never could before. I’m incredibly grateful for her guidance and highly recommend her!
I have worked with Ms. Shawnta McMillon-Brown for a few years now, and I cannot speak highly enough about their service. They have been nothing but understanding and respectful in all aspects of my care. I would highly recommend their services for any sort of emotional or mental guidance. Thank you, Ms. Shawnta.
I just love Mrs. shawntà. She is a different type of therapist. I feel like I’m actually on my way to healing my past selves. I recommend her to anyone really looking for healing and understanding 🤗🫶🏽
When I hit a rough patch in life and was ordered to come here for the courts. I was upset and wasn't open to the idea but it was very needed and Ms Shawnta is amazing. I remember my 1st appt telling her I didn't need therapy and now 2 yrs later I'm doing it on my own(not court ordered)... It's nothing like having a non judgemental ear to hear you out and guide you.i highly recommend this place!
I am enjoying my experience with Sheila! It's refreshing when you can converse with someone who doesn't judge, listens, and gives you honest feedback! Since working with PIL, I am experiencing more joy and accountability from myself! Highly recommend this group!
Hands down therapist Ms. Erica is amazing therapist! I highly recommend PIL , I’m so grateful for their support and knowledge assisting my love one. PIL is a very professional facility and my love one felt comfortable and safe. Therapist Ms Erica provided outstanding strategies and coping skills for my love one. The office is very welcoming and comforting.
Once I started therapy, I felt I didn’t need it or it wasn’t necessary. It took a lot out of me to admit my feelings and take the steps to get better. Once I started my new job as a 911 call taker and I realized I still had some scars that needed to heal deep down. But happy to say I love my therapist and she’s very open with communication and everything I have to say. I would recommend this service to anybody. I really would.
I have had the pleasure of working with Ashley for a few years now. She has been consistently kind, helpful and professional during my treatment. I’m so grateful for the continued guidance/support and consequential growth.
PIL Professional Counseling is truly an amazing place. From the moment you make contact, you can tell the whole team is dedicated to creating a welcoming and supportive environment. They are professional, compassionate, and really make you feel cared for. A special shoutout to Ashley Dais, who has been wonderful to work with—she’s kind, thoughtful, and always makes me feel heard. That said, it’s clear PIL as a whole is full of counselors and staff who genuinely care about their clients. I’d highly recommend PIL to anyone looking for quality counseling with people who go above and beyond.
I have no trouble understanding the staff and it inspires me that they have accomplished so much. I’ve had a few therapists in my life, but none compares to the progress I’ve made with Marcia! I’d also like to respond to the fellow soliciting lodging complaints. I agree with your assessor. You should take the classes and try to learn something. Some things we have no control over. Innocent or guilty, the law is the law. That you expect things to go a certain way doesn’t mean they will. Accept it. And the woman, Marcia, isn’t a receptionist. She is a full fledged therapist. I’m 55 and this is my first dui. I was sitting in my car in my own driveway. You,sir, are not special. Try to put yourself in their shoes. They have to try to help ASAP clients with bad attitudes like yours. Sometimes you have to shoot from the hip. Stop being a crybaby and don’t sit in your car drunk. Live and learn and watch that displaced anger. Be safe and God bless.
Mrs. Forbidussi is amazing. She is very knowledgeable and shares that knowledge so very well. I learned so much! She is easy to talk to and really understands what people go through. I can not thank her enough!!
If you have court ordered asap or just need help with alcohol and substance abuse this is by far the only place to go they do not treat you like an alcoholic or a drug addict they teach you about life and ways to cope with things so you don't turn to drugs or alcohol I would highly recommend them
These guys have got out of the way for me, and the staff is friendly. if you see them first and you have an out-of-state DUI, there's a possibility they can help you without going to ASAP
